This blog will focus on looking at some incredible logos of Formula 1 teams for 2024.

But before we start going through these incredible logos let’s look at why we’re looking at Formula 1 logos in particular.

Why Formula 1 Team Logos?

Formula 1 or F1 as it’s known in short is the premier class of international racing competitions in existence. The term “Formula” refers to the set of rules that all cars in the tournament must follow. The majority of Formula 1 teams are owned by automotive brands. These brands combined with their respective teams use the Grand Prix as a podium for not only showcasing their formulated automobiles but also their branding and visual identity. Just as they present the latest car models with the most advanced automotive engineering, they put on their best show with their branding.

Every year, fans eagerly look forward to the race, not only for the new cars and driver announcements but also for the unveiling of the latest and incredible logos of Formula 1 teams. Spoiler: The recent F1 season did not disappoint!

You will notice that most F1 team logos will feature the logo of their sponsor alongside the team’s normal logo. This combination of the logos will appear on racing cars and other merch in most cases.

Now remember these are multi-billion dollar companies, so these incredible logos and visual identities are crafted by the best designers in the world and must also cost a pretty penny.

This is why Formula 1 team logos are a great place to seek logo inspiration. Whether you’re a designer or an F1 enthusiast you’re in for a “wheelie” interesting ride.

10 Incredible Logos Of Formula 1 Teams For 2024

1. RedBull Racing

Red Bull Racing is one of two Formula 1 teams owned by Red Bull, with the other being Scuderia AlphaTauri. Similar to many renowned F1 teams, RBR has revamped its logo multiple times to align with new sponsors and marketing strategies.

The current sponsor for the RBR is Oracle, thus the inclusion of it at the top. The earliest version of the current logo debuted in 2021 and was almost identical to this. The only change in the latest version is the Oracle logo and the words Racing are in a darker silver with the gradient much more controlled than the previous one.

Here’s the previous version for reference:

Isolating the different major components of the logo, we can see that the Red Bull logo appears as it is and in the center of the combo. The tail name of this team “Racing” was at one point a different color but since 2013, when they were sponsored by Infinity, a different car manufacturer, the word Racing took on the color of the sponsor logo.

And this is true for both incredible logos of the Oracle Red Bull Racing team featured above. The word Racing takes on the color and effect of the sponsor logo.

This logo combination appears in various places in the event branding, on driver uniforms as well as other merch.

Here’s an example:

All in all, it’s one of the most incredible logos of the Grand Prix in 2024.

2. McLaren

The McLaren logo history spans 60 years with many different iterations. And you can bet these incredible logos were a huge part of their identity throughout those years.

McLaren’s logo journey started with a crest design introduced in 1964 by Michael Turner a close friend of Bruce McLaren.

This very first logo design was more of a coat of arms for the gallant drivers of the Bruce McLaren Racing Team, as it was called back then.

Fast forward to 1981, renditions where the Kiwi featured disappeared, and now came a more corporate-looking logo design with just the words McLaren and speed marks. But it was really the 1991 logo design that set the stage for the latest version with a singular speed mark.

This version too underwent quite a few changes up till 2021 when the current version was introduced.

The latest logo design features the speed mark on the right in the color papaya. The current font is also much more slimmer and modern – symbolic of the agility and speed of their cars. This change according to the McLaren logo archives sets them ready and optimized for the digital environment.

The 2024 version also includes the tagline Formula 1 team in capitals with a sans serif font. The kerning showcases effective use of space to make sure it balances with the main wordmark.

The new logo also appears in full black, and full white, and also inverted with the speed mark in papaya color as it is. The t-shirt below showcases this.

It’s truly one of the most well-known names in F1 history and goes down as one of the most incredible logos the competition has seen.

3. Ferrari

Ferarri is a team that has made an indelible mark in F1 racing. They’re also the F1 team with the most number of race wins as of January 2024.

The prancing horse emblem of Ferrari is universally recognized, whether you’re a fan of Formula 1 or not. Throughout its many iterations, the iconic prancing horse has remained a constant feature of the Ferrari logo. Nearly every version of the logo has been in the form of a crest, although the shape has evolved from shields to rectangles to shields again, with variations in the details of the sides of these shapes.

Despite these changes, the core concept, imagery, and colors have stayed consistent.

The most recent version was rectangular, but this year, Ferrari decided to go retro, reverting to their 1932 logo and evoking nostalgia among many fans.

The above logo combination is the one featured on the official Ferrari team page on the Formula 1 website. The inclusion of HP highlights their current sponsorship. However, on merch, the Ferrari logo appears without the accompaniment of the HP logo.

While some sports and racing teams look to the future and change, others access the past to showcase and affirm their longstanding brand identity. Ferrari’s move to take a page out of the past showcases their pride in their existent visual identity. And for good reason, this is one of the most memorable incredible logos one can behold in the Grand Prix in 2024.

4. Mercedes

Mercedes-Benz has been a prominent presence in the Formula One arena for decades. Since 1954, Mercedes has launched numerous teams and cars into the racing championships, securing a significant number of titles along the way.

Mercedes has been a key player in Formula One, both as a team owner and an engine manufacturer, since 1951. The very first logo design for the team was simply just the Mercedes symbol and it was not as dynamic as the one above. It was a black 2-dimensional logo design.

In the next iterations, it was Petronas who first entered the logo combination. Then followed AMG in 2012.

Today, the team competes under the name “Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team” as you can see by the logo above.

As we mentioned previously Mercedes’ team has one of those incredible logos on this list that features additional components of sponsors on top of their larger brand identity.

The Mercedes logo seamlessly combines 3 distinct incredible logos. The powerful Mercedes icon, the AMG logo, and the wordmark of the Petronas logo. And the tagline at the bottom brings the whole combination together. The overall logo appears as a powerful symbol owing to the sizing and layout of the individual components.

In the merchandise for the team, the incredible logos appear scattered as well as one unit like in the merch shown below:

All in all, this is one of the most popular and incredible logos of the F1 for many reasons but also because the integrity of the core logos is preserved. This a valuable lesson for those creating sports logos alongside sponsor logos.

5. Aston Martin

Aston Martin is a manufacturer of luxury sports cars and that luxury that they like to be associated with is evident from their logo.

Even the Aston Martin Formula 1 team logo is clean and has an uncluttered layout as you can see, giving a sense of sophistication.

In early editions of the incredible logos of the Aston Martin Formula 1 team, it was only just the branding of Aston Martin. They used their core logo with the tagline the same as the one featured above.

Throughout the years their sponsors have first been Cognizant and then Aramco and the overall logo layout shifted a couple of times.

Here’s the logo from 2023:

Similar to the 2024 logo combo the same background color is used but an extra dividing line appears horizontally. Speaking of the dividing line, you can see how particular Aston Martin is about appearing as a luxury brand in the details they include. Instead of just having a straight line, the ends are thinned out for visual impact.

In the 2024 version, the horizontal line is dropped with the removal of the Cognizant logo and only Aramco’s logo appears as Cognizant’s naming rights are no longer involved from this year.

The present logo is a rearrangement of the previous logo and it looks even more spacious and relaxed than the previous one.

On the merchandise, however, you’ll find that the layout is again rearranged for a better visual aesthetic.

As far as incredible logos of Formula One teams go, Aston Martin’s logo is surely a stand-out.

6. RB

The full name of this particular team is Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team. The team was previously known as Scuderia AlphaTauri.

A slight history lesson about this brand and its logo will help put things into perspective. The very first name of this team was called Scuderia Tauro Rosso. This team was launched in 2006 and at its initial stages, it was simply a junior team under the Red Bull Racing Group.

Fast forward to 2010, the STR branched out while still under the parent company. And in 2020 the name was officially changed to Alpha Tauri to coincide with the fashion label of the same name under Red Bull.

There were many incredible logos for this team with many transitions through the years like the transition from 2 bulls to featuring 1 bull for example. But 2024 perhaps brought the biggest change to this logo.

This major change in identity and branding stems from the announcement of a groundbreaking multi-year agreement between the Red Bull F1 Teams and Visa (NYSE: V), making Visa the first global partner of both Red Bull F1 teams. As a result, a new-look team, Visa Cash App RB, formerly known as Scuderia AlphaTauri, has joined the F1 grid.

The new logo dons a vertical arrangement, and is changed into the Visa blue palette with the bull brought to the front in full form and the RB standing for Red Bull set behind. The Visa and Cash App logos are featured at the top and bottom accompanied by the tagline.

The same layout is used for some merch while in others it’s laid out horizontally for aesthetic purposes.

While there was concern among fans about the drastic change it still goes down as one of the incredible logos of Formula 1 teams for the year 2024.

7. Haas

Haas is an American Formula 1 racing team, founded as recently as 2014 by Gene Haas. It is the first American team to compete in F1 since the mid-1980s.

The Haas Formula 1 team has had many different logo renditions, mostly which only have the Haas logo with the tagline F1 Team. Whenever a sponsorship logo was added it was added on top and a line divided the sponsor name and the brand name. This practice is consistently seen in all such incredible logos of theirs that include title sponsors.

The emblem part of the logo has also remained unchanged since the initial logo version.

Moving on to the latest version, we can see most of these practices are upheld in the new design. One important detail to note is how the MoneyGram icon is cleverly and seamlessly incorporated into the Haas emblem using white space in the design. This version was introduced in 2023 and is used for the 2024 season as well.

The logo appears on the merch as it is without any changes like some of the instances we saw.

Conclusively, it is one of the most incredible logos of F1 teams largely due to its clever design.

8. Alpine

This team is one of the F1 teams that has undergone the most recent name changes. Until 2021, this French team was called the Renault F1 team. But they rebranded the team to as Alpine to promote Renault’s sports car brand of the same name.

The logo too has undergone many changes since the team’s inception in 1977 due to the constant name and operational changes. Nevertheless, they were all a collection of incredible logos.

Since its rebranding to Alpine a stylized A was the striking part of the logo along with the name Alpine, the tagline F1 team, and a small French flag at the bottom.

A year later in 2022, the team announced a strategic long-term partnership with BWT. This partnership led to a change in both the name and logo, as BWT became the title partner of the Alpine F1 Team from the 2022 season onwards, resulting in the team’s new name: BWT Alpine F1 Team.

Thus, the stylized A was dropped, and in its place came the BWT logo in blue as you can see. Everything else in the logo remained the same.

But it should be noted that the stylized A lived on in merchandise along with the new logo.

Here’s an example of a t-shirt design that uses both these incredible logos in different places:

It’s a practical logo design that accomplishes the purpose of an F1 team logo which is why it should be considered one of the incredible logos of the race.

9.Williams

Williams has been a Formula One racing team since the 1970s. And its team name and the incredible logos have undergone a great number of changes as you can imagine. Not only were these changes plenty but they were also quite drastic.

The first form of the current logo came about when they entered into a sponsorship agreement with Martini in 2014.

The exact font with the detailing on the W has been preserved in every single version of the logo that came about to this day.

Williams is not actively looking for a title sponsor so it’s just the brand name Williams Racing and the latest color scheme is an electric blue.

But if you look at their merchandise they use the color scheme from their 2020 logo design.

It’s one of the incredible logos of Formula One teams that just uses a wordmark without any sponsorship logos in the mix, at least for now.

10. Kick Sauber

This next team along with the logo design may seem entirely new to you. It’s because this team was formerly known as the Alfa Romeo Formula 1 team. As of January 2024, they have officially changed their name to Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber.

This team has undergone a few more full renamings on previous occasions as well. For instance, in 2018 it was the Sauber Team that was renamed Alfa Romeo as they were the title sponsor.

Here’s one of the strikingly famous logos when Alfa Romeo was a title sponsor:

The latest rebranding of Sauber to Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber came about with the departure of Alfa Romeo.

It does get a bit confusing remembering all the name changes that happened throughout the years.

But the current logo is a clear collection of all the relevant logos for the team name and title sponsors for 2024 laid out in a visually pleasing manner.

The unique thing about this logo design is that it maintains the integrity of each individual logo without any major changes. The layout is what gives it an overall visually appealing look.

On merchandise too, the logo mainly appears in the current version:

It’s one of the incredible logos on this list that’s simply what it is because of its effective layout.
